Sunrise Day Nursery at Harrietsham is the sister site to our Langley nursery and is housed in the old station master’s house next to Harrietsham railway station. The fully refurbished building was adapted and registered to offer care for 26 children. The nursery opened in September 2011 and provides modern facilities, whilst ensuring a ‘home-from-home’ feel.

The setting is spread over two floors. Our Baby and Tweenie rooms are downstairs; dedicated to meeting the needs of up to 11 children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years. Upstairs, we have two rooms which meet the needs of our 2 and 3 year olds and our preschool children.

The site has extensive outdoor space, which includes a paved area and artificial grassed areas providing separate all weather surfaces for our youngest and oldest children.  In addition we have access to a public footpath directly opposite the building; allowing us to take children out for walks to access the local area and environment.

As part of our site security, we have parent allocated parking and our main door has a cctv entry system.

Our lunches are supplied by Zebedees, who provide healthy, balanced and nutritionally analysed meals using fresh ingredients that are appealing to young children.  Our snacks and teas are supplied and prepared in house. The weekly menus are made available to parents each term.

Sarah Simmons is our Harrietsham setting manager and is supported by the deputy manager Emma Clark.  Although our Nursery Director, Julie Starns, manages the Langley setting and is based there, the management team from both settings work together closely to ensure the Sunrise ethos is consistent and quality of care and learning is consistent.
