Sunrise Day Nursery at Harrietsham is the sister site to our Langley nursery and is housed in the old station masters house next to Harrietsham railway station. The fully refurbished building was adapted and registered to offer care for 26 children; the nursery opened in September 2011 and provides modern facilities, whilst ensuring a ‘home-from-home’ feel. We have recently extended our provision, to care for 36 children, with a dedicated Pre-School room, in our grounds, with free-flow access to outdoors. The site has extensive outdoor space, which includes a paved area and artificial grass providing an all weather surface. In addition we have the opportunity to experience the local community and environment when taking children out for walks.
The nursery is open 51 weeks a year, from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm, closing across the Christmas week as well as Bank Holidays. We offer flexible sessions throughout the year for all year groups; these include half-day sessions, ‘school day’ sessions and full days. We do, however, recommend that children attend a minimum of twice a week for continuity. The nursery is spread over two floors, with an external dedicated Pre-school room. Our Meet and Greet room and Baby Room are downstairs in our main building. The Baby Room is dedicated to meeting the needs of up to 6 babies between the ages of 6 months and 18 months. Upstairs, we have a Tweenie Room which meets the needs of 5 children between the ages of 18 – 28 months and the remaining two rooms are for our 15 Nursery children between the ages of 28 to 36 months. Our care provision is governed by Ofsted and recognised through regular inspection; our first inspection in September 2011 (6 weeks after opening) confirmed us as ‘Good’ in all areas of provision.
