The aim of our staff at Sunrise is to be a group of caring and dedicated practitioners who work as a team, accepting and practicing an agreed educational philosophy, and collectively expressing one clear concern; the total welfare of all the children in their care.  We aim to create an environment where continuity for children and parents is priority and, therefore, we operate a ‘key person’ system. The key person works with parents/carers to plan and deliver a personalised plan for your child’s well-being, care and learning. Our team is fully committed to the Sunrise ethos and includes some that have been with us since opening in September 2011 and some who joined us from our sister site at Langley.

Sunrise Day Nursery

All of our staff are vetted by Capita Recruitment Vetting Services, an independent company instructed by Ofsted. All our room leaders hold a minimum level 3 early years qualification and have a minimum of three years post qualification experience.  Supporting staff hold a minimum early year’s level 2 qualification and professional development plans ensure that additional training is identified and all training is kept up to date.  Staff who are training towards a qualification are given support by a mentor and ‘in house’ time to complete their studies.  We ensure that all staff have regular access to online and face-to-face training events and in particular areas such as Child Protection and Behaviour Management.  Each room has a minimum of one Registered First Aider and we have a designated Safeguarding Lead and Safeguarding officer available at all times.

Support staff

We also have a group of part time, qualified and unqualified staff who assist us to allow our staff to have non-contact time and ensure extra staffing at busy times such as lunchtime. These staff are also available to cover in the event of staff absence or holiday and are fully vetted.
